Gaining knowledge and tips on how to create your newsletter will help you jumpstart and create your website newsletter on an ongoing basis.
It will also help communicate with your list and prospective customers on a regular basis.
The forum we discussed earlier is when you join big forums to contribute your opinion, gain insight from them and discover new things to improve your business. The other advantage the big forum will give you is the backlink to your site. The in-house forum is your own mini forum which you created yourself, not on a commercial base but for the benefit of your visitors.
Now that we have that cleared out, let us continue…
If you have the time to do it, creating a forum and/or a newsletter for your website site is another viable option to get more traffic.
One of the greatest things about forums and newsletters is that they allow you to keep your regular visitors and make them frequently come back to your site to see what is new.
If you add RSS feed (which we will describe in next section), this will further encourage people to come and see the latest addition to your blog. A forum (and a newsletter but to a lesser degree) is one of the best ways to build a community of loyal readers.
Starting a forum can be an overwhelming task with no guarantee that your traffic will be interested in your products or services. Most people coming to your forum may be there just to blog (gossip, rant or discuss) and give their opinion which is okay.
The fact remains that you will be the moderator checking content and grammatical error to make sure your site maintain its credibility. This could take some time and prevent you from doing some other projects that may promote your site.
To make your effort worth the while, you should make sure that you are getting targeted traffic to your forum to eliminate unnecessary traffic that won’t convert into prospect or customers.
Getting targeted traffic to your forum will not only give you sales, but it will also help you to get a higher Google PR (page rank) and a better Alexa ranking.
Please note that some people only operate forums and/or newsletter as their main business online. This kind of forum turns out to be very big and profitable because the owner has a lot of time and effort devoted to it.
Some newsletter charges their subscriber up to $100 a month to subscribe to their newsletter. Such newsletter will concentrate on research and feed their subscriber with tips they can add directly to help build their business.
This could be very costly to the person operating the newsletter, because of the cost of constant research and they have to be current about latest technology and new methodology that can help to build business.
Constant testing and research is their primary job – they serve business-to-business (B2B) instead of Business-to-Client (B2C).
Newsletter can also be your only business online or it can be used as the extension of your customer satisfaction strategy to impress your customer and show them your expertise, your knowledge, and your creativity about your niche.
This would serve as an additional benefit you offer them. If you are able to do a good job with your newsletter, some potential customer may become your fan and recommend you to their friend, colleagues and family who may become your customer in the future.
Remember, everything you do online does not have to generate immediate revenue in terms of cash. If you intend to operate your business for a long time, planning for the future would be a great investment and the seed you plant today may determine the future of your company.
If you do not already have a newsletter, you should plan on having one that you would publish monthly or quarterly.
You may want to join my monthly newsletter to give you insight on what a newsletter is and gain from it to create your own.
One of the main things you should look for when you are reading other people’s newsletter is the headings and presentation. What makes you continue reading – those are the attention getters; you can have a swipe file for them and use them as a base to create your newsletter.
Remember, you can always search the net for newsletter in your niche.
Tips #1 – Research your topic
Write articles on topic relating to your niche and make sure you are well informed about it before you publish. Since this newsletter is mainly for your website visitors, focus on your site’s main topics.
Visit forums in your niche area as we have discussed in the Forum section to know more about what is going on and gain insights for your topic.
If you are like me, forum and newsletter is to help keep the customers relationship going, then, you should just focus on doing it on a small scale that will help to generate traffic and build relationship.
Tips #2 – Use short, informative subject line.
You want your article to stand out of the crowd. Remember people receive hundreds of e-mails every day and they only open the one that appeal to them. This is where having a swipe file of various headlines can come to play a big role.
Make your headline to be curious, fun, and meaningful. For example, ‘Resale Rights – Are You Sitting on Gold.’
I actually use this heading in my resale rights article, visitor will know it’s about resale rights and the curiosity part of it is ‘sitting on gold.’ If your visitor is interested about resale rights, they will not want to sit on gold, so they will continue reading.

Tips #3 – Send message in both HTML and text.
Obviously your message will be prettier and more presentable in HTML, the problem is if your recipient does not have HTML on their e-mail.
If you send both HTML and text version of your newsletter, the software is smart enough to know how to deliver text e-mail if HTML is not available.
Tips #4 – Follow a regular schedule.
Only you know what is convenient for you, so check plan your time very well to know if it will be convenient for you to write your newsletter every month or quarterly.
Personally, I think a quarterly is too long since the idea is to provide more value to your visitors and make them remember you – this is totally up to you.
Whatever you do, make sure you are consistent with your schedule because some of your visitors will be expecting to hear from you.
Tips #5 – Give credit to the article reverence source.
If you are referencing another article, news, or someone else, make sure you get your facts and state your source to give credit to your source and to protect your reputation – fact-check your article is a must step to perform.
Tips #6 – Content is King
Here comes the good old phrase again ‘Content is King.’
I know it will not hurt if you hear it again because content is what sets you apart from the rest of your competitors and it is what you feed your visitors that make them come back again to gain from you.
Be original, do your research, survey your visitors if necessary to know what they want to learn from you and give them exactly what will be beneficial to them.
Always provide articles that are meaningful to your reader in your niche area. An example would be to write an article on ‘how the e-mail marking works’ when your niche want to know about ‘how to prevent cancer.’
Tips #7 – Always come up with original articles.
As we have covered in the content creation section, you can come up with your own articles, you can hire someone to help write your article or you can re-write a PLR.
Remember to put in your voice especially if you hire or re-write a private label right article.
Make sure your message convey unique and valuable information.
Tips #8 – Don’t copy.
Do not copy someone else’s work – this is called plagiarism and you may get into a lot of trouble if you do. You can get sued, your business can get closed down and your reputation may be ruined – it isn’t worth it.
Tips #9 – Subscribe to research company newsletter.
If you can afford it, there are some monthly research newsletters you can subscribe to that will give you an ongoing internet marketing information.
You may then subscribe to the research company’s newsletter for more updated tips on what is going on around you and how to continually be on top of your business game.

- www.amazon.com – gain ideas about the best product that is selling in your niche and how they are presenting it to the world.
- www.reesereport.com – John Reese use to have TheReeseReport for $99 a month.
I have had the opportunity to read some of John’s report, they are detailed and informative. The drawback to his report is, when you join, there is no back issues – which means you can only get the issues from the month you join.
You can watch out for close out sale or something of his reports.
You can also search Google ‘Your Niche Keyword’ + (plus sign) ‘Newsletter’ to get various newsletters in your niche.
